Chief Executive, Front Porch Communities and Services
Sean Kelly, chief executive of Glendale-based Front Porch Communities and Services, leads one of the nation’s largest nonprofit senior living providers. Since stepping into the top role in 2023, Kelly has leveraged decades of executive experience in senior housing, having previously served as president and chief executive of The Kendal Corp. and spent over a decade as a principal consultant in development, finance, marketing, and operations. His influence extends throughout the industry: he is vice chair of the board of LeadingAge California, serves on the Healthcare Leadership Council and The Vision Centre Board. He’s also a contributing author to the book “Paths to Leadership in the Senior Living Industry.”

First job: Cutting lawns in high school
First charity: Ronald McDonald House and some of the families he’s come to know. “My wife’s father volunteered there for many years and introduced us to their cause to bring family and friends together in a supportive and loving environment,” Kelly says.
Favorite book: “Fools Die” by Mario Puzo. “I was 14 and read Mario Puzo’s (novel) at a cabin my great-grandfather built. … It’s magically written, with similar pacing and attention to detail in the personalities and environments. It’s mostly about human nature and how it shows up in extraordinary circumstances – particularly the amazing place known as Las Vegas,” he says.
Favorite pastime or hobby: “As our girls are getting older, I’m finding more time to travel with my wife,” he says. “Taking in California has become an awesome pastime.”
