Co-Chair, Disney Entertainment, The Walt Disney Co.
As part of its succession plan, Dana Walden now serves as president and chief creative officer of the Walt Disney Co. – a newly created role and a first for the entertainment giant. Walden assumed the position in March 2026, reporting directly to the new Chief Executive, Josh, and leading Disney’s expanded entertainment segment. That includes the company’s streaming, film, and television businesses, as well as its growing gaming and digital entertainment division.
Previously, Walden served as co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, running Disney’s entertainment media, news, and content businesses and sharing oversight of its direct-to-consumer operations, where she helped lead Disney+ and Hulu to profitability.
Walden joined Disney in 2019 following its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, initially serving as chair of Disney Television Studios and ABC Entertainment. Before joining Disney, Walden spent 25 years at 21st Century Fox and served as chief executive of Fox Television Group. Walden is a recipient of the Producers Guild of America Milestone Award and the first executive to receive the International Emmy Founders Award in more than two decades.
