Valley 200 2026: Jill Welton

President, Southern California region, CommonSpirit/Dignity Health

Jill Welton was named market president of the Dignity Health Southern California Market in March 2024. In her role, she oversees six acute care hospitals – four in Los Angeles County and two in San Bernardino County – and a network of 10,000 employees and 2,000 physicians serving more than 275,000 patients annually. As a former registered nurse, Welton built a career that merges clinical and administrative leadership, previously serving as hospital president of Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center and as chief operating officer and chief nursing officer at Dignity Health – St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. Her leadership has earned her national recognition as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader by the Human Rights Campaign, reflecting her commitment to equitable, inclusive care.
