Kurtz chairs the franchise practice group at Lewitt Hackman’s office in Encino, where he represents franchisors and franchisees in the international, national and regional restaurant, retail and service sectors. His experience includes developing and co-managing 22 franchised quick-service restaurants and serving as general counsel for franchisors. He has been a founder and officer at the Franchise Advisory Council and the Independent Franchisee Association. His work encompasses structuring franchise systems, developing and enforcing standards and resolving disputes and workout arrangements. He has served on the boards of Woodbury University in Burbank, Westmark School in Encino and Dubnoff Center in North Hollywood.
