Sanchez, a longtime leader in the San Fernando Valley, currently serves as director of special programs, community relations for Los Angeles World Airports and is the volunteer chief executive for the Valley Cultural Foundation, a group that puts on free concerts in the park. She also serves as the vice chair of the Fernando Awards Foundation and as a Mid Valley YMCA board member, in addition to being involved in a number of nonprofits and community organizations. For her work with the community, Sanchez was awarded the Fernando Award, the highest honor for volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley, in 2021 and was named Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Gold Coast Chapter.
