President, Harvard-Westlake School
Commons serves as the president of Harvard-Westlake School, where he collaborates with a team of administrators to oversee the campus’s business and educational aspects. Before joining Harvard-Westlake in 2013, Commons was the headmaster of the Groton School in Massachusetts for a decade. He also taught English, coached soccer and held the position of Dean at Harvard-Westlake. Commons was an Echols Scholar during his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, and he earned his master’s degree in English and education from Middlebury College and Stanford University.
