City of Calabasas, Councilmember
Shapiro has served on the Calabasas City Council since 2012 and was elected as the city’s mayor for three separate terms. His terms include from 2014 to 2015, a second term from 2018 to 2018, and his third term from 2020 to 2023. As mayor, he spearheaded the creation of the first Foundation of the Mayor’s Youth Council in 2019, with the mission of encouraging youth between the ages of 14 and 21 to become more involved in city government and philanthropic initiatives. Shapiro, who also works as an attorney and operates his own firm, is a representative of the Clean Power Alliance, an organization that works toward providing renewable and clean energy.
