President, Chief Executive, Capstone Green Energy
Canino was hired last year to take over at Van Nuys-based Capstone Green Energy, a microturbine manufacturer and energy-as-a-service provider. The company was emerging out of bankruptcy at the time and Canino’s background in the energy industry bolstered his credentials to help turn the ship around. Revenues have steadily improved under his leadership and the most recent quarterly earnings report indicated a significant reduction of net loss year-over-year. The company this year also returned to the stock market and began trading on the OTC Pink Open Market. Prior to joining Capstone, Canino held C-suite roles at ESS Inc., an energy storage company in Oregon, as well as Canadian HVAC manufacturer Smardt Chiller Group.
