Armine Galstyan leads North American operations for SmartGate VC, a Glendale-based venture firm investing at the earliest stages in physical artificial intelligence and robotics, brain-computer interfaces and cybersecurity. The firm’s portfolio of more than 40 companies has attracted follow-on investments from firms like Nvidia Corp. In April, SmartGateVC partnered with eMerge Americas to launch HIVE, a healthcare syndicate. A founding member of Hero House – the firm’s Glendale tech hub supporting immigrant founders – Galstyan has organized more than 300 industry events that draw top investors, founders, and C-suite leaders, and oversees its GateWay acceleration program, which links startups, universities, and local businesses.
