American Environmental Group, a consulting firm in Westlake Village, has been acquired by global insurance provider McLarens, which has offices in Glendale. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. American Environmental specializes in indoor air quality assessments, hazard identification and building compliance. The company will bolster McLarens’ risk management and loss adjustment services on complex property claims. “We see a real need for effective third-party environmental assessment and solutions, particularly in testing for and determining environmental risk factors,” McLarens Chief Executive Gary Brown said in a statement. “Adding AEG to our team is a natural extension of our existing services and creates an in-house environmental consultancy, which will allow our U.S. adjusters to provide an even greater level of pre- and post-risk assessment and solutions to clients.” The company will continue operating under the American Environmental Group brand as a wholly owned subsidiary of McLarens.
