Phoenix Firm Lands at Van Nuys Airport

Cutter Aviation will begin operations this month at Van Nuys Airport, taking over space Pentastar Aviation occupied until leaving the airport last year. The Phoenix company plans a multimillion dollar renovation of the hangars and the terminal, which will offer fuel sales, aircraft sales, and charter and maintenance services. The company plans to open a sales office for the new Honda light business jet. The 85-year-old, family-owned company operates at airports in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Texas. Van Nuys will be its ninth location. President Will Cutter said the company has been working for about a year to open at Van Nuys and has hired Tom Magglos as general manager. Magglos is familiar with Van Nuys having worked at the airfield’s former Petersen Aviation aircraft management firm for five years. “(Magglos’s) past experience coupled with his corporate pilot background gives him a unique perspective to understand what our customers demand and how to best provide that service,” said Cutter, in a prepared statement.
