As a nationally recognized academic healthcare leader, Spisso has more than 30 years of experience in the health field. At UCLA, she has served as president of UCLA Health, chief executive of UCLA Hospital System, and associate vice chancellor of UCLA Health Sciences since 2016. In these roles, she is responsible for overseeing all operations at UCLA’s hospitals and clinics, as well as the health system’s regional outreach strategy. UCLA acquired West Hills Hospital and Medical Center last year, which has been renamed UCLA West Valley Medical Center. Prior to joining UCLA, Spisso spent 22 years at UW Medicine in Seattle, where she held several positions including chief nursing officer and vice president of medical affairs.
