Chief Executive, Antelope Valley Medical Center
Mirzabegian has served as the chief executive of Antelope Valley Medical Center since 2019. The Association of California Healthcare Districts named him CEO of the Year in 2023. This is his second time as AVMC’s chief executive. He served in this role from 2007 to 2013 and was chief operating officer two years prior. Amid his first term as chief executive, he transformed AVMC’s financial standing from an accumulated $18 million loss in 2007 to a $24.6 million profit by the end of the fiscal year 2010. Before rejoining AVMC, he was the regional chief executive for Prime Healthcare, while also serving as board chair for West Anaheim Medical Center and La Palma Intercommunity Hospital – both of which are in Orange County. He also held the titles of corporate chief executive for Avanti Hospitals Healthcare System and chief operating officer for HealthCare Partners IPA.
