Stocks were down across the board for the two-week period ended June 5. The Nasdaq fell 1.8 percent, the Dow Jones Industrial Index fell 2.3 percent in the period and the S&P 500 finished down 2.8 percent. The Valley 50 slipped 3.4 percent. The best local performer was Capstone Turbine Corp., up 34 percent, with MannKind Corp. being the second-best performer with a gain of 19 percent. The worst local performers were Sport Chalet Inc. and Dole Food Corp., which fell 17 and 14 percent, respectively.
