President, Porto’s Bakery
Raul Porto Jr. leads Porto’s Bakery & Café as president and chief executive, guiding the Cuban American institution founded by his mother, Rosa, in 1976 after the family emigrated from Castro’s Cuba. Running the business alongside his siblings, Beatriz and Margarita, Porto Jr. has driven significant expansion of the restaurant. The bakery currently serves more than two million patrons monthly across its seven Southern California locations. Porto Jr. also expanded the company’s e-commerce arm, Porto’s Bake at Home, shipping its signature potato balls, cakes and pastries nationwide. Porto’s Bakery also supports nonprofits such as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
