Chief Executive, Machina
Edward Mehr spent much of his early career steeped in software before a job at SpaceX’s engineering team opened up. The company was his first foray into the true potential of merging software capabilities with hardware’s dynamic potential, and he went on to found Machina (formerly called Machina Labs) in 2019. Machina has an array of customers including Toyota, Lockheed Martin and smaller projects such as theme parks, architects and artists. The company uses advanced manufacturing techniques to make parts for cars, drones and even art pieces. As domestic manufacturing becomes a heightened priority for the federal government, companies like Machina are reinventing what manufacturing used to look like, making it more high-tech and robotics-forward.
