Lamps Plus Launches Canadian Website

Lamps Plus Inc. on Tuesday launched a Canadian version of its ecommerce website, the company’s first dedicated platform for a foreign customer base. Lampsplus.ca serves as the Chatsworth company’s “official” expansion into Canada, though customers based in the country have been purchasing products through the U.S. version of the Lamps Plus website since its launch in 1998, the company said. Prices are displayed in Canadian dollars; most orders will include free standard shipping from Lamps Plus’ California distribution center. “Canada has always been an important market for Lamps Plus. … With this new website, we are taking a major step forward in bringing our product line to the country,” Chief Executive Dennis Swanson said in a statement. The new website will further the company’s access to customers in major cities such as Montreal and Toronto as well as throughout the rest of the country, Swanson added. The product selection on LampsPlus.ca will evolve with input from customers in the region and input from Canadian interior designers, he said.
