Disney Shows ‘Star Wars’ Trailer on China’s Great Wall

Walt Disney Co. projected the trailer for its new “Star Wars” film on the Great Wall of China on Tuesday night, the company announced. The Burbank media and entertainment giant staged its “The Force Awakens on the Great Wall” campaign for fans of the science fiction film at the Juyongguan section of the wall. The premiere of the trailer also included an appearance by 500 Stormtrooper characters. “Star Wars: The Force Awaken” arrives in U.S. movie theaters Dec. 18. The trailer was shown in the U.S. during Monday Night Football on ESPN, part of Disney’s television division. Following the airing of the trailer, tickets became available online through Fandango and MovieTickets.com and immediately set pre-sale records at both websites, according to media reports. Shares in Disney closed up 37 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $109.84 on the New York Stock Exchange.
