Blaze Pizza to Open in Glendale

Blaze Pizza LLC announced Wednesday it will open a new Glendale location of the fast-casual pizza chain during the first quarter of 2014. The 2,200-sqaure-foot location will be in the Glendale Galleria near the new Bloomingdale’s store at 100 West Broadway. Pizza in the Sky LLC, a franchise group, will operate the Glendale location. The artisanal pizzas made by Blaze were originally started by Wetzel Pretzel’s LLC founders, Elise and Rick Wetzel. The pizza chain, based in Irvine, currently has locations in 13 states, with one location in the San Fernando Valley at the La Cañada Flintridge Town Center. Executive Chef Brad Kent, who makes the recipes for Blaze, said he is excited about the new restaurant. “I am really looking forward to introducing the Glendale community to Blaze,” he said in a statement.
