Online banking software developer Digital Insight was sold Monday by a private equity firm in a deal valued at $1.65 billion. Digital Insight, based in Menlo Park, has offices in Westlake Village and Calabasas. Thoma Bravo LLC, a private equity firm with offices in San Francisco and Chicago, is selling Digital Insight to NCR Corp. just four months after acquiring it. NCR of Duluth, Ga., said the Digital Insight acquisition will enable the company to provide a better consumer experience at bank branches, ATMs, online and through mobile devices, that can improve a retail bank’s growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Capstone Turbine Corp. received multiple orders for its low-emission microturbines to be used on offshore oil and gas platforms in Alaska, the company announced Wednesday. The Chatsworth company will provide the equipment to Hilcorp Alaska LLC, which has 10 oilrigs in the Cook Inlet purchased last year and this year. The microturbines will be powered in part by sour gas containing high amounts of hydrogen sulfide. Capstone products can meet the challenge Alaska presents of rising energy costs, remote locations, lack of a statewide grid infrastructure and a high demand for heat in an Arctic climate, said Greg Porter, president of Chenega Energy LLC, Capstone’s distributor in Alaska. “I believe we are seeing the beginning of a proliferation of Capstone solutions in Alaska across multiple industries and market sectors,” Porter said in a prepared statement. Shares in Capstone closed up 6 cents, or more than 5 percent, to $1.22 on the Nasdaq exchange. National Technical Systems Inc. completed testing on the electric power system of a new passenger jet from Bombardier Aerospace, the company announced Wednesday. The Calabasas testing and engineering firm did the work at its Rockford, Ill. facility. National Technical’s contract calls for the testing of four major electric subsystems on the CSeries aircraft, a new single-aisle aircraft currently undergoing flight testing. The plane is made by Bombardier of Montreal. “We believe the breadth of capabilities in Rockford allowed us to play an important role in the testing of the CSeries aircraft,” National Technical President and Chief Executive William C. McGinnis said in a prepared statement. Public Storage Inc. announced this week it has entered into a $700 million one-year term loan with Wells Fargo Bank. The Glendale real estate investment trust intends to use the funds toward acquisition and development, and general corporate purposes. As of Sept. 30, the operator of self-storage facilities had interests in 2,110 facilities in 38 states with about 135 million net-rentable square feet, and 188 storage facilities in Europe with 10 million net rentable square feet. Public Storage has remained aggressive in the fourth quarter, buying 44 storage facilities for roughly $324 million in October. Shares closed up $1.51, or 1 percent, to $151.93 on the New York Stock Exchange.
