Woodbury University has named Randall Stauffer the university’s associate vice president for academic affairs. Stauffer joined the Burbank school in 2001 as a full-time faculty member and chair of interior architecture. He served as dean of faculty from 2005 to 2007 and became associate dean of the School of Architecture in 2012. He holds a master’s of architecture from UC Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree from Temple University. In the new job, Stauffer will serve on the Deans’ Council and participate in the development of curriculum and academic policy, support the development and implementation of the strategic plan, and serve as liaison to academic and non-academic units in planning of facilities and allocation of space. David Dauwalder, provost at Woodbury, said Stauffer was a problem-solver. “Randy is known as a consensus builder, a thoughtful, even-handed, persistent and knowledgeable professional,” he said in a prepared statement. Norman Millar, longtime L.A. architect and dean of the School of Architecture, will take over Stauffer’s responsibilities. Woodbury University was founded in central Los Angeles in 1884 and moved to its 22.5-acre residential campus in Burbank in 1987.
