National Technical Acquires Rival Test Lab

National Technical Systems Inc. added clients in the aerospace, defense, telecom and commercial electronics markets with the acquisition of competing test services firm Garwood Laboratories Inc. The terms of the deal between Calabasas-based National Technical and Garwood Labs, with locations in Pico Rivera and San Clemente, were not disclosed. The acquisition is the third by NTS in the past 12 months. The addition of Garwood Labs, which will be operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary, extends the reach of NTS in Southern California and offers synergies with customers and services, said National Technical President and CEO Bill McGinnis. “The addition of the Garwood employee base augments our top-flight teams of engineers, technicians and management with an exceptional and complementary group of talent,” McGinnis said in a prepared statement.
