CSU Extends Search for New Cal State Northridge President

CSU announced the search for the next president of California State University Northridge has been extended for 90 days. The extended process will allow for additional candidates to be included in the pool for consideration, said Bob Linscheid, CSU trustee and chair of the committee spearheading the selection of the president. “After conducting an initial resume review, the campus advisory committee as well as the trustees on the search committee agreed it would be beneficial to extend the process and ensure that we have the largest and most competitive pool possible,” Linscheid said. The committee began its search for the new president in October, following the announcement of current president, Jolene Koester’s, retirement. As a result of timeline changes, candidate interviews scheduled for December have been canceled. The trustees committee will meet on Jan. 20 to review the roster of candidates and their qualifications and schedule interviews for Feb. 22, for those selected to advance in the selection process. The CSU Board of Trustees plans to name the university’s new president at the end of March.
