Sigal is the chief executive and president at NewMark Merrill Cos., one of the fastest growing privately held developers and owners of shopping centers with locations in Southern California, Colorado and Illinois. He founded his Woodland Hills company in 1997, which currently owns and/or manages more than 90 shopping centers—a collective value exceeding $2 billion. Its best known centers include Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, the West Hills Shopping Center, and Del Amo Plaza in Cerritos.
The company recently launched NewMark Merrill Hadler Community Partners, which will target underserved, inner-city communities throughout Southern California by building new or buying and refurbishing existing retail centers. Sigal is also an active member of the Young Presidents Organization, the leading organization of company CEO’s and presidents and was given an honorable mention by Commercial Property Executive as Retail Property Executive of the Year in 2020. Sigal is active in an array of community organizations including serving on the board of the Camp Bob Waldorf Foundation, a camp for underserved children which Sigal attended when he was a child.
