ANTELOPE ACRES – Environmental studies on a proposed 230-megawatt solar electricity facility will include looking into the project’s potential impacts on the views from the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserves and Highway 138, on the potential for dust and other air pollutants during construction and on how much traffic will increase, documents show. A public meeting last week to seek comments from local residents and organizations about what else should be studied in the environmental impact report drew about 30 people and a handful of suggestions, including setting back or screening with Joshua trees the barbed wire-topped fence proposed along Highway 138, providing an equestrian trail through the property and using treated waste water from Lancaster to help keep down dust during construction.
