Amgen Inc. announced the appointment of Jonathan Graham on Tuesday to the position of general counsel and corporate secretary. The Thousand Oaks biotech hired Graham, 55, from Danaher Corp., an industrial and consumer goods holding company in Washington D.C., where he served as senior vice president and general counsel. Previous to Danaher, he was vice president of litigation and legal policy at General Electric Co. and a partner at the firm of Williams & Connolly LLP, also in Washington, D.C. Graham will succeed David Scott who is retiring Aug. 31. Shares closed up 12 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $163.56 on the Nasdaq.
