The board of directors of data storage and power supply manufacturer Qualstar Corp. has begun searching for a new chief executive after CEO William Gervais said he would retire in June. Gervais co-founded the Simi Valley-based company in 1984 and he has been chief executive officer since 2000. Gervais is also relinquishing his seat on the board of directors. Both moves are effective June 15. Gervais will remain available as a consultant to Qualstar as needed. Mark R. Madler
