Founding President, Chief Executive, Mission Valley Bank
Gurney is the chief executive and founding president of Mission Valley Bank, a Sun Valley-based community bank that opened in 2001. The bank has two branches and divisions that focus on specialized lending, accounts receivable, community development and merchant bankcard services. It manages the needs of more than 6,000 clients. Gurney began her journey in community banking in 1980, when she joined American Pacific State Bank as the executive assistant to the president. Over the course of two decades, she ascended to the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer. She has been actively involved in various local nonprofit organizations.
