Overton is the chief executive of The Cheesecake Factory, a restaurant chain based in Calabasas known for its large menu and cheesecakes. The company’s first location opened in Beverly Hills in 1978. It quickly expanded, and in 1992, it went public. As of earlier this year, the company had 358 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada under its various brands, which include North Italia and Flower Child, in addition to The Cheesecake Factory. It also has 33 restaurants under licensing agreements abroad. In 2018, the company acquired Fox Restaurant Concepts and its 12 brands. In the first quarter of this year, the company reported total revenues of more than $927 million, up from $891 million during the same time period the previous year.
